VW agreed to pay over 10 Billion to settle. According to CNBC it works out to 1000 to 7000 per vehicle.

Hey, VW! Your shenanigans contributed to pollution which cause cancer and other sicknesses. 1,000 to 7,000 doesn’t cover a band-aid at a hospital.

Fuck you, VW

In my view, using these risk factors to compute “body counts” is illegitimate, and comparing these computed body counts with actual deaths, such as from the recent GM ignition switch fatalities, is irresponsible ,”

So it sounds like this money is to compensate OWNERS not the general public. Given the Huge EPA fines, and the “clean air grants” I think that its going to be a damn sight more than $1000-7000 per vehicle.
